Furia may be considered Melbourne's own Merengue Kings. Renowned for their vibrant "Merengue" rhythm together with the much loved Salsa, Cumbia, Cha cha and Punta rhythms. Performing originals and cover songs from all parts of the Central and South American continent, Furia focus on music from the Caribbean Islands. Furia began in 1993 in Melbourne (Australia) by Omar Pereira and other selected musicians. Touring Australia they have performed, entertained and captured the hearts of all Latin music lovers and dancers. This outstanding group predominantly focuses on the Merengue rhythm with it's unique feature the "Guira and Tambora" and stylish dancing moves, they have truly earnt the right to be called "Merengue Kings". Furia's stage presence is extraordinary with their unmatched energy, enchanting all crowds - whether Salsa lovers or not.
